Muiris MacCarthaigh is a Professor of Politics and Public Policy, Head of Politics and International Relations and Director of the Centre for Public Policy and Administration at Queen’s University Belfast.
His research engages with a variety of debates within and between political science, public sector governance and public policy. Muiris is particularly interested in the role played by administrative systems in translating political preferences into public policy outcomes. He serves on the editorial committees of Public Administration Review, the International Journal of Public Sector Management, Irish Political Studies and Administration.
