Belfast is served by two airports – George Best / Belfast City (Sydenham) Airport and Belfast International Airport (Aldergrove). Between them, daily flights are available to and from both these airports to all major UK airports which serve the vast majority of the UK population. International travellers can easily reach the city via a change of flights at one of the London airports. Belfast is also connected internationally, with direct flights to several European cities, including important hub airports like Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Paris.
Public transport from both airports is excellent. Dedicated bus connections provide a regular shuttle from each airport to/from Belfast city centre, with the campus and most hotels being a short onward walking distance. Taxis are available for hire for those who prefer.
For participants arriving in Dublin International Airport, coach services operate regularly to/from Belfast. Three different carriers offer services with journey times of just 90 mins to Belfast city centre, from which the campus and most hotels are onward walking distance. (Please note that visas for the Republic of Ireland do NOT afford automatic right of entry to the United Kingdom! Hence, where a visa is required, please ensure that the correct visa is secured before your journey.)
There is a regular train service from Dublin city centre (Connolly Station) to Belfast Central Station.
Ferries operate from Liverpool (Birkenhead) to Belfast and from Cairnryan in south-west Scotland to Belfast and nearby port of Larne, so for those participants either travelling as foot passengers or bringing their car, the city is easy to reach.
